Core Wars (2015) Collaboration [video, objects, installation, performance, sound, print]
"The Core Wars is an autoethnographic collaborative project I developed with a group of my students at the University of Oklahoma in 2015. For the project we explored (pop)ular spaces and communities where subcultural groups have transformed from the stigmatized into the empowered. Primarily, we were concerned with ‘Fandom’ and ‘Participatory Cultures’ where we examined how ‘fans’ have developed navigation skills during an era of convergent media.
"We developed the fan film over three months filming at many locations in central Oklahoma. The structure of the project is organic in nature and is being modularly developed to allow numerous active participants to contribute a single database narrative."
Above is the second preview for the Core Wars screening in Fall 2015.
